Voya names new chief executive

Voya Investment Management has promoted its chief investment officer of fixed income to the role of chief executive.

Christine Hurtsellers, who has been fixed income CIO since 2009, officially took over the reins on 1 September, reporting to Voya Financial’s chief operating officer and chief executive officer of retirement and investment solutions Alain Karaoglan.

She succeeds Jeffrey Becker, who has decided to leave the firm for an opportunity at another company. Becker was chief executive for seven years.

“Christine possesses the unique combination of being an inspirational leader, an exceptional money manager and one of the brightest people in our industry,” said Karaoglan.
